Welcome to Park in the Past heritage park.
This is a 120-acre heritage and ecological site built on a former quarry near Hope, Flintshire. The parkland Features a full-scale recreation of a Roman timber fort, the first of its kind in Britain in 2000years, a Celtic village recreation and areas designated for Ice Age reconstruction. The Park has a strong emphasis on ecology, habitat creation and rewilding.
It is an area of natural beauty offering woodlands and wetlands, a magnificent 35-acre lake bordering the River Alyn, as well as footpaths and spacious paddocks.

Riders may purchase an entry season ticket via Nifty covering all rounds. Season Ticket Entry is withdrawn after Round 3. NWCX aims for 8-12 rounds per season. Season tickets are not refundable if rounds are cancelled or rescheduled due to bad weather or other circumstances beyond the control of NWCX.
League Tables NWCX League standings will be based on best 6 results from 9 races – riders must race a minimum of 4 races to qualify for awards. Round 10 will ordinarily be a non-championship fun race to accompany prize-giving. In the event of bad weather cancellation or other disruption, NWCXG reserves the right to make Round 10 a qualifying round and/or adjust league scoring criteria in the event of cancellations.

NWCX welcomes ALL riders regardless of age, gender or ability. NWCX expects respect and good manners at all times. You can race on a cyclocross, gravel or mountain bike. You can try the beginners race for 30mins.
New riders are made very welcome. If unsure, don’t be afraid to ask at HQ. The North Wales series prioritises racing for children with most making rapid progress over the course of a season.
Single frameset rule: to limit costs and entry barriers NWCX operates a single frameset rule. You must use the bike you start with. No spare bikes are permitted once the race is underway.
Knobbly tyres rule: cyclocross takes place on grass, mud and gravel surfaces. It is essential for competitor safety that knobbly tyres are fitted. Riders with inappropriate tyres will be asked to withdraw on safety grounds. This applies equally to children.
Competitors retain race numbers for their body and handlebars. Numbers are issued to competitors at initial registration. Riders are instructed to retain and re-use their numbers all season therefore simplifying registration. Please keep your number safe between races. Replacement numbers will be charged £5 per set.
Return of timing chips. Competitors hand back their race chips at the finish. Each chip cost NWCX £44+vat. You will be billed if you fail to return your chip immediately post-race.
