NWCX 19/20 Event 6: Ruthin

ROUND 6 OF THE NORTH WALES CYCLOCROSS LEAGUE 2019/20 sponsored by THE BIKE FACTORY CHESTER

Ruthin Cycling Club welcomes competitors to the Llanfwrog Centre in Ruthin.  

After hosting our end of season 'fun' race last year we had to head back to Ruthin for a league race in 19/20. No disco tent at 'Bingo's Bar' this time but I am sure some of you will be doing some fancy moves down the hill. 

This predominantly grassy course takes in twists and turns, run ups, planks, a woodland section and even Ruthin's version of the Koppenberg climb.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL LEAGUE RACES ARE ONLINE ENTRY ONLY - NO ON THE DAY ENTRIES FOR RACES OTHER THAN NOVICE KIDS AND NOVICE ADULTS.

All entries carry a non-refundable £1 administration charge to cover the on-line entry costs.

Novice races are entry on the day only :

• 'Novice Kids Race' for any U12s who are new to racing or need assistance as Mum or Dad (or any other responsible adult!) can run around with the kids if you can keep up!  - 15 min £3 entry fee on the day only - starting at 11.00am
• 'Novice Adults and Over 11s race' for older kids and adults wanting to have a go a cyclocross without the pressure of the full league race - 30 min. £5 entry fee on the day only. This race will be incorporated into the U16 race where we traditionally have small numbers.

All other race categories are ONLINE ONLY entry

10:00 -11:30 Registration. There will be no registration after 1130.

11:00 Novice Children -( 10mins ) £2 (entry on the day)

11.20 Race#1:U8s, U10s, U12s   ( 20mins ) £3 (£2+£1 admin fee) Nifty Online Only

12:00  Race#2:  U14s, U16s,  ( 30mins )  £6 (£5+£1 admin fee)  Nifty Online Only         + Adult Novice ( beginners) £7 cash (enter on the day)

Newcomers regardless of age, gender or ability are welcome. You can race on a cyclocross bike or a mountain bike. You can try the beginners race for 30mins.

Parents:  children enjoy cyclocross. If unsure don’t be afraid to ask at HQ. This series prioritises racing for children and newcomers. Most beginners make rapid progress.

Single frameset rule: NWCX operates a single frameset rule. You must use the bike you start with. No spare bikes permitted once race underway.

Knobbly tyres: cyclocross takes place on grass, mud and trail surfaces. It is essential for competitor safety that you fit knobbly tyres for cyclocross. Riders with smooth tyres will be asked to discontinue.

Competitors are to hand back their race chips at the finish. Each chip cost £30+vat.  You will be billed if failing to hand back your chip
